Gordy records track with Yourcodenameis:milo Gordy has recorded an experimental track with Geordie noiseniks Yourcodenameis:milo for the British equivalent of Queens Of The Stone Age's 'Desert Sessions'. Inspired by Josh Homme's experimental project where he regularly lures musicians into the Californian desert to record, Gordy laid down a song at the band's Newcastle HQ just before Christmas.
Speaking about the recording sessions, he told NME.com: "We wrote and recorded a song in a day. It was really good fun and they're a great bunch of guys. It was great doing something different and it was worth it as well. I was kind of nervous about it to begin with but it worked out really well."
Over the past few months, Tom Vek, Reuben and Martin Grech have also contributed to the project. YCNI:M are now hoping to coax PJ Harvey, a veteran from the original 'Desert Sessions', and Bjork to Newcastle.
The project is tentatively titled 'The International League of Super Best Friends'. An album release and tour are being considered - check back for more info!
