Download Russell's Placebo remix from iTunes
As previously reported on Blog Party, Placebo have been bitten by the Bloc Party bug. The 'Russell Lissack from Bloc Party Remix' of the new Placebo single, 'Because I Want You', will be released in the U.K. as a b-side to the original song on Monday March 6th. The remix is also available to download now from iTunes.
Russell's done a sterling job with the track, giving it a very Bloc Party feel. Opening with a syncopated bassline reminiscent of 'She's Hearing Voices' and some crashing Tong-esque drums, the remix quickly morphs into an atmospheric floorfiller. There's even room for some trademark Russell riffage and what can only be described as a not-very-silent alarm solo in the middle section. Download it and you'll see what I mean!
