American Kids...Bloc Party begin tour with Panic! At The Disco Tonight begins Bloc Party's month-long venture into the foreign realms of American stadium gigs and emo music (or not emo, since Brendon Urie, vocalist of the punctuationally inclined group, has decried emo as a genre). The trek juxtaposes Bloc's underground status in America with the overwhelming popularity of the young Nevada act of nameless genre. Also featured on the tour is Jack's Mannequin, the not-so-secret solo identity of Something Corporate's frontman Andrew McMahon.
The tour will stop in 25 cities, making it Bloc Party's most comprehensive overseas outing to date. Even if you are not fond of P!ATD's music, you have to have a touch of respect for their musical taste since they specifically requested that Bloc Party open for them. With many shows already sold out, this tour will give Bloc the opportunity to enlighten and/or convert many new fans as well as treating the old faithful to their last tour before returning home just in time for the holiday season and buildup to 'A Weekend In The City'.
If you’re lucky enough to be going, why not drop us some photos and words arranged in some sort of order that tell us how you were feeling and what you were experiencing at the time? How was it seeing the musically humbling followed by the visually stunning? ‘Silent Alarm’ followed by ‘He’s Behind You?’ Any new songs? Answers inscribed neatly on one of those ridiculous wooden ice cream scoops to the usual address, please. And break a leg, Bloc!
Read on for some Bloc Party fans' opinions of this slightly controversial tour...
yey a chance to see bloc party once more! i just hope that the panic fans won't be all "boo get off the stage" like they did to the dresden dolls. :[ id cry.
i'm really not totally pissed that Bloc Party is touring with Panic!. i think Panic! sucks, and the match-up is weird, but it isn't infuriating me.
what makes me sad is that Bloc is relegated to an opening act. Bloc should open for no one.
but in the end, it's just another chance to see Bloc Party live. and, no matter how unfair the situation may seem, any chance to see Bloc Party is a chance worth taking.
kisses!

I'll be going to Portland and Seattle this time, James. =) Not too sure if cameras will be allowed, but I'll happily send you some shots if I find out they're okay... xoxo, Heather.
just got back from the ft. lauderdale show!!! woo! bloc party rocked like they only know how to do! only new song they played was 'waiting for the 7.18' as their opener. the crowd was young and unfamiliar with the boys from london, but you could hear some fans singing along with kele! overall, it was a great showing by the guys! everything i wanted and more! panic was good and you can tell the crowd was really only there for them, but nothing could be better for me than the party around the bloc!!
no cameras allowed guys..try to sneak em in, because their stage decs are awesome!! unbelievable lighting!! ft. lauderdale show was kick ass!! it sucks they have to open up, they need to be headlining!! <--'they gave me moments!!'
I'm seeing the Bloc/Jack's/Panic concert in San Diego on Dec 9th, and I can't wait!!! "Silent Alarm" is my favorite record of all time, and guess what? I don't dislike Panic or Jack's! They are both great bands, and I know it will be a show to remember. But, I'm really just going for the Bloc.

I'll be seeing Bloc Party at Long Beach arena. This will be my first concert seeing Bloc Party... I don't care much for Panic!
never seen bloc party . truth be told i'd nver heard of them before i bought tickets. i'm a huge panic fan, but i've been listening to bloc party and i'm loving them so far. i won't boo them off stage. promise =]
I went to the Orlando show tonight and I thought all the bands were amazing. Personally, I think it's cool that different genres tour together..it gives people a chance to have some variety in their musical interests. If you're not a fan of Panic! that's your personal opinion, but don't sit there talking shit about them and their fans. People like what they like. [No, I'm not just saying this because I'm pretty much Panic!'s number one fan] I've got to say though, most of the people at the show were complete assholes. All the bands are pretty much bands you dance to, so why push and get pissed off when people are doing just that, dancing. If Kele or Brendon say dance, you dance for Christ's sake. It's just a show, don't take it so seriously.
i'm going to the concert..and i've gotta say..me and my friends are so excited we are like..wetting ourselves. You might disagree but i <333 P!ATD, Jack's Mannequin...and of COURSE i <333333 Bloc Party. Its gonna be an amazing concert.
I went to the show in Atlanta, and must say that Bloc Party was simply amazing as always. I didn't stay to see panic!, because I don't really like their music. I forget the name of the first band, but they were okay. They played generic punk/emo rock. I think about one third of the people in the crowd were only their to see Bolc Party, because many left after they were done playing. This was an amazing preformance by Bloc Party, and I can't wait until I can see them again, live.

When was JM supposed to be a secret lol. It doesn't bother me that Bloc are touring with P!@TD. Watch Bloc and Jacks and head off somewhere better before Panic come on
I'm a fan of Panic! At The Disco but just as big a fan of Bloc Party. Everyone I went with (I went to the first show in Ft. Lauderdale) said that Bloc Party sucks and the reason for this is that P!atD is now a pop-radio band in America. The real fans that STARTED OFF listening to P!atD while they were underground would love Bloc Party (just as myself), don't blame P!atD blame the posers...

Atlanta Setlist Waiting for the 7.18 Positive Tension Banquet Modern Love Little Thoughts Like Eating Glass Helicopter
My sister and I had really horrible seats, and we barely made it before Bloc Party took the stage. They were amazing though! We were dancing like fools, and everyone around us was sitting down. Some people demanded that we sit down, but we just ignored them. ha ha...Overall, we enjoyed ourselves! And I still can't believe Matt played through the set in his condition. The man deserves an award or something.
