Bloc Party's 'Rhododendrons' is one of the tracks featured on the 'Causes 1' charity album released by Waxploitation this week. Other bands on the album include Animal Collective, The Shins, Bright Eyes and The Cure. That's a pretty good lineup right there! Buy it now on iTunes US or iTunes UK for a limited time only. 100% of the proceeds will go to Doctors Without Borders, Human Rights Watch and Oxfam America to help victims of the ongoing human rights crisis in Darfur.

The people over at the official Bloc Party site, BP.com, are looking for one Marshal for each of the four upcoming UK arena shows to make their own Bloc Party documentary, or "Blocumentary"!
The chosen budding Nick Broomfields will be given a MiniDV handheld camera for the night and a single 60 minute tape, access to the venue and photo pit (during the gig), and an interview with one member of the band.
To enter, write a short pitch (no more than 500 words) for your Blocumentary including what you want to film, the title of the project, your interview questions and which member of the band you'd want to interview, and the 'story' you would like to put together...then email it here.
Your pitch MUST include your name, email address, age and mobile / phone number. Winners MUST already have tickets to the gig of their choice - please read all terms and conditions below before entering.
Winners will be chosen the week of 03.12.2007. After the gig, the winners' footage will be edited into a short film in line with the original 'story' and will be featured on BlocParty.com, the official Bloc Party YouTube channel, all of Bloc Party's social networking sites and most importantly, the Bloc Party Podcast.
Terms and Conditions:
Entrants must have tickets to the gig they choose to film.
The camera is property of Bloc Party and must be returned in good working order on the night of the gig.
The original tape and contents filmed are owned by Bloc Party. Winners will have access to the footage after it is edited in a digital format.
Footage will be edited in keeping with the original story / pitch in so far as the footage allows.
Travel and other expenses will NOT be covered.
Bloc Party / the venue reserve the right to revoke access to the venue, camera, competition prize and band if winners act inappropriately, so don't mess about.
The competition is open to Marshals members only.
The competition closes on 02.12.07: no entries will be accepted after that date.
Northerners rejoice...Bloc Party are to play a very intimate gig at Leeds Cockpit (capacity: 450) on Monday 10th December! Tickets for the one-off show were only available through the NME lottery, accessed via the 'Flux' remix EP that came with NME last week. Lucky winners will have been emailed by now but everyone else who entered the lottery should check their inboxes next week for the second round of tickets.

Critical reaction to 'Flux' has been mostlypositiveso far(small exception) and the remix of Where Is Home? (on the 12" vinyl) by dubstep's man-of-the-moment, Burial, is one of the most original and accomplished Bloc remixes to date (download it here). 'Flux' is also the first multi-lingual Bloc Party song...Kele has re-recorded his vocals in German and French (for the full Eurodance effect?) and residents of those countries can download the results on the German and French iTunes!
In non-Flux news, a new remix of 'Hunting For Witches' is currently tearingup the blogosphere. It's by a duo called Villains and you can download it below...

Bloc Party kicked off their European tour in Amsterdam on Wednesday after a false start (the Copenhagen gig scheduled for Tuesday was unfortunately cancelled), treating their Dutch fans to 'Flux', 'The Once And Future King', 'Tulips', and even a snippet of 90's Eurodance favourite, 'No Limit'! Here's a shaky clip from YouTube...did anyone get a better recording?
