Download here a mashup of 'Banquet' with Katy Perry's 'I Kissed A Girl'. The two songs sound made for each other, and it actually makes her track fairly listenable...
Also, Pitchfork are currently offering up Bloc Party's remix of 'Salt, Peppa and Spinderella', the new single by ace Brummie aggro-popsters Johnny Foreigner, as a free download. Point your clicky peripheral here!

Go here to watch the video for Bloc Party's new single, 'Talons', out on October 20th (or watch via YouTube below). Menacing and moody - it fits in well with the track, and is also the first video since 'Hunting For Witches' to feature the band. Watch a bare-chested Kele gnash his teeth, and the other band members...erm...stare at light fittings!
It seems the artwork revealed on Play.com (and this site) last week wasn't the official 'Intimacy' album cover after all, but it was pretty close! Here's the official cover - no tongues this time around, and a much more arty, soft-focus photo.
Other 'Intimacy' news: according to the official website, the new single 'Talons' will slot in as track number 9 on the physical release, between 'Zephyrus' and 'Better Than Heaven'.
Bloc Party's brand new single, 'Talons' was played for the first time on BBC Radio 1 tonight and is now streaming on Bloc's official site and MySpace!
The track wasn't featured on the digital release of 'Intimacy' last month, but anyone who's already bought the album can now download it for free. 'Talons', produced by Paul Epworth, will be on the physical release of 'Intimacy' (October 27th), along with other new songs, and will also be released as a single (2 x 7" and CD) on October 20th. Remixes will come from The Moody Boyz, XXXChange, FrankMusik, Midfield General and Phones.
Here's what Kele has to say about the track: "We wanted to keep things fresh and we thought the fans would be more excited to get a new song rather than something off the album. 'Talons' is one of the last songs we recorded during the 'Intimacy' sessions and I always had it in mind to be one of the extra tracks we promised for the CD if it turned out well. It turned out great so we decided to make it the next single. I’m enjoying this way of working, not over-thinking things, just make a decision and get on with it! It’s quite liberating in a way, I’m sure it’s going to be the way things happen more and more in the future".
All credit to the people behind Bloc Party's current release plan...they certainly know how to keep things fresh. Tomorrow night between 7pm and 9pm GMT, Zane Lowe will premiere a brand new Bloc Party single on his BBC Radio 1 show...one of the final songs recorded during the 'Intimacy' sessions and as yet unheard! The track will be on the CD release of the album in October and will also be available as an immediate free download for anyone who's already bought or pre-ordered the album.
So tune into Zane Lowe tomorrow night, or listen online here.
In other news, Bloc Party will be playing the Glasgow Barfly on October 19th as part of the MTV2 Gonzo Tour 2008. Details here.

Pin Me Down (Russell Lissack's side-project with Milena Mepris) have posted a brand spanking new track on their MySpace, 'Ticking', and it's a bona-fide pop anthem - the sound of Bloc Party gatecrashing a Gwen Stefani song. There are no release plans yet, but rest assured that any news will appear on BP.net when announced. Check out Milena's latest blog herefor all the latest goings on in PMD world, including their brush with Olympic greatness!
According to Play.com, this is the image which will be gracing the cover of Bloc Party's third album, 'Intimacy'. It looks like a zoomed-in still from a soft-porn movie and is probably not what most people expected! Go here for some slightly more subtle fan-created interpretations.
Of course, this could all be an elaborate joke by Play.com, in which case Bloc Party will be the ones laughing at us gullible fans!
Here's a couple bonus Vcasts for your viewing pleasure...go here to download them (you have to be a 'Pioneer').
Bloc Party in Japan: Bloc Party are on the road again, this time in beautiful Japan where they recreate the video for 'I Still Remember' on a bullet train, Final Fantasy perform their stunning rendition of 'This Modern Love', the Noisettes get bouncy backstage, Smoosh charm us all and it's cake all round!
Silent Film: Move over Buster Keaton, Matt and Gordon soundtrack and star in their very own silent(ish) film, occasionally treading into Kasabian territory.
